First 24 hours of our epic adventure and this is what we’ve learned so far:
Family is everything. From the wonderful, teary send off in Canada, to the unbelievably warm and generous arrival, we are so blessed. Without family this adventure would be far harder and a whole lot scarier.
Sleep is crucial. With little-to-no sleep on our travels, we arrived weary, frazzled and a bit weepy. With a solid night sleep under our belts (14 hours and counting for the kids!) we are feeling much more equipped to set out exploring.
Don’t travel with four 49lb suitcases and a husband with a bad back. You’ll have to do all the heavy lifting while bystanders wonder why he’s being an asshole.
Good coffee, wine, cheese & chocolate can make anywhere feel like home.
Church bells that chime every quarter hour remind us that we are surrounded by angles.
